The topic of the Red Scare always stirs people’s minds, doesn’t it? On this tour you will get an idea about how Moscow looked during Soviet time from 1917 to 1991 when the communists ruled the country. The rest of the World did not know much about what was going on in the USSR and its capital city behind the Iron Curtain. Nevertheless Moscow underwent through significant changes in architecture, culture, political system and lifestyle.
Many historical buildings, churches and monasteries, monuments and even medieval districts were demolished. At the same time many ambitious and huge projects were undertaken, the first skyscrapers (Stalinskie Vysotki) rose, new wide streets and avenues stretched out, spacious parks and shady alleys appeared and one of the busiest metro in the World was built.
You will ride through the streets and places that witnessed October revolution, Stalin repressions, Great Patriotic War, military parades, Perestroika and the collapse of the Soviet Union.
